Itinerary Summary

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha/Zanzibar – Tarangire National Park

Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from Arusha (or a short flight from Zanzibar to Arusha Airport). After meeting your safari guide, you’ll set off for Tarangire National Park, famous for its giant baobab trees, sweeping savannah, and large elephant herds. Enjoy a full-day game drive as you spot lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and more than 400 bird species. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park with stunning views of the Tarangire River. In the late afternoon, you’ll drive to your lodge/camp near Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the crater hosts nearly 30,000 animals including the Big Five – lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo, and the rare black rhino. As you explore the grasslands, acacia forests, and soda lakes filled with flamingos, your guide will share insights about the wildlife and ecosystem. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before ascending the crater walls in the afternoon. You’ll then drive back to Arusha or catch your evening flight back to Zanzibar, marking the end of your incredible 2-day safari.

On the final day of your 3 Day Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Lake Manyara Eco Safari, you will drive to the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park, located at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment. The park is well known for its unique tree-climbing lions, vast flocks of pink flamingos, and incredible bird diversity with over 400 recorded species. As you explore the lush groundwater forest, open grasslands, and the shimmering soda lake, your guide will share fascinating insights about the park’s wildlife and ecosystems. You may spot elephants, giraffes, and playful troops of baboons along the way. After a picnic lunch in the park, enjoy a leisurely afternoon game drive before returning to Arusha, where your eco safari adventure concludes.
