This 10-day adventure combines the best of Zanzibar’s rich culture and Tanzania’s Northern Circuit safari, offering a unique opportunity to explore vibrant island life and incredible wildlife. The first four days immerse you in Zanzibar’s historic Stone Town, pristine beaches, spice tours, and traditional Swahili culture. The last six days are dedicated to a wildlife safari, visiting Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and learning about the Maasai and Hadzabe tribes. You’ll enjoy breathtaking landscapes, diverse wildlife, and authentic cultural experiences, all while staying in comfortable accommodations. Day by Day

Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar

Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Stone Town. The day is free for you to relax and explore the historic town, known for its winding alleys, ancient buildings, and vibrant markets. You can enjoy a leisurely evening at the hotel or take a stroll along the coastline to admire the sunset.

After breakfast, explore Stone Town’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, visiting key sites such as the House of Wonders, Sultan’s Palace, and the former slave market. In the afternoon, embark on a spice tour where you’ll learn about Zanzibar’s famous spice trade. The day ends with a visit to a local village to experience the traditional Swahili way of life.

Take a boat ride to Prison Island, once a colonial detention center, now a sanctuary for giant tortoises. Spend time exploring the island’s history and enjoy the beautiful beaches. In the afternoon, return to Zanzibar and relax on one of the island’s pristine beaches, swimming and soaking in the tropical surroundings

Spend the day exploring the local culture and interacting with artisans in a nearby village. Participate in a cooking class to learn about Swahili cuisine, followed by a traditional lunch. In the afternoon, visit local markets where you can buy handcrafted goods and spices. End the day with a sunset dhow cruise along the coast.

After breakfast, fly to Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park for your safari adventure. Tarangire is known for its large elephant population and diverse wildlife, including lions, giraffes, and zebras. You’ll have a game drive in the afternoon, spotting animals amidst the park’s iconic baobab trees. Overnight stay at a lodge near the park.

On day six, head to Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as Africa’s Garden of Eden. The day’s game drive will take you to the crater floor, where you’ll encounter a range of wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, and wildebeests. The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife. Stay overnight at a lodge overlooking the crater.

Today, visit the indigenous Maasai village near Lake Eyasi. Experience the Maasai culture through song, dance, and the daily rituals of this semi-nomadic community. You’ll also enjoy a short walk with the Maasai warriors, learning about their traditions and way of life. Return to your lodge for a restful evening.

On the eighth day, embark on a unique cultural experience with the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer societies in the world. Participate in a traditional hunting and gathering expedition, observing their survival skills and connection with nature. In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful nature walk or relax at your lodge.

Today, visit Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and diverse birdlife. You’ll explore the park’s lush forests, salt flats, and water sources, spotting animals like baboons, flamingos, and elephants. After a full day of game viewing, return to your lodge for a relaxing evening.

On your final day, you’ll head back to Arusha for some last-minute shopping or sightseeing. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for a brief city tour or visit the cultural heritage center before being transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
